Jack and his son Stewart

This is Jack and his son Stewart, we met in an old Irish pub in New York City called Jack Dempsey’s.  Jack Dempsey was a world famous boxer.  My Jack who is in this picture was in the British merchant navy and once a month the Queen Mary would dock in NYC and they would go to the Jack Dempsey bar.  It was something he did every month until he met is wife Ilene Bell.  You see Jack was away for 19 months but when he saw Ilene in 1949  he knew he was in love.  On March 10th, 1951 Jack and Ilene were married.   They had 2 wonderful son’s Steward and Leonard.  He now has 4 grand son’s that he is very proud of.  Ilene asked her husband not to go away anymore so Jacks last stop at Jack Dempsey’s bar and grill was in 1956.   Unfortunately Jack’s wife Ilene passed away on August 29Th 1997.  Jack had always wanted to return to NYC so for his dad’s 80Th birthday, Stewart his son granted that gift to his father and took him back to NYC to have dinner in the Jack Dempsey’s bar and grill. Stewart said (hey why not, it was either that or a pair of socks.)  Jack was granted a free pass aboard the USS intrepid and to Jack’s surprise it was not at all like he remembered it to be.  It was completely changed.  Jack was on the original Queen Mary, not the one they say is haunted.  Jack was born on April 4Th 1929 and he lives in Liverpool England where he was born and raised.  This was a pleasant surprise for me to be in this Jack Dempsey’s bar and grill on the same day that Jack was there celebrating his 80Th birthday with his son Steward.  I enjoyed listening to his story very much and he enjoyed telling Bryan and I.  His son Stewart was a wonderful son to take his dad back after 53 years and give him the gift of his past to reminisce of the good old days.  I was blessed to met them and hear his story and I wanted to share it with all of you.  See Jack I told you I would put it on my web page.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK!!!!   It was such a pleasure to have met you  both. :) Yours truly, Tasha Bossert

This was to date the best day in my hairstylist life.  I was so excited I couldn’t sleep the night before so needless to say I was exhausted.  But that did not stop me.  I stood in line with my wonderful husband Bryan and there we met Chip, Wellington and Kate the girl in the yellow jacket.  Everyone was very nice and pleasant.  We talked about hair and where we were from and where we worked etc.  It was way COOL, everyone was from somewhere different, only 2 people that I met were from NYC, the little girl with the fur hat and the blond guy with the black and silver box.  I was interviewed by 2 people and asked if I was married and had kids.  I, of course being proud of that said yes I am and I have twins.  I rocked out my graduated bob haircut and they took my application.  They asked CHIP to stay and at the same time I was so happy for him but knew that I wasn’t chosen.  They said no not to worry it’s not over till April 6Th so to wait till then to be contacted.  I believe that they already had someone in their mind and they needed a guy.  Not sure if the fact that I was married with children was my down fall.  Ohh well, all I can say is I tried, and I am so glad that I did.  I’m thinking I may do it again next year.  This time I know what to expect.  This was a great experience, and I feel my shop here in little UTICA, NY is ASESOME!! I am so proud of what I have accomplished.

Kristy is a very pretty girl believe it or not she is in her 30′s and wanted to look more mature.  I don’t blame her, lets face it I would proof her if I was a bartender.  LOL anyway, she wanted her hair to be back to her natural color.  I suggested a side over bang because her high forehead and I wanted to give her some shape to her hair, a little face framing would bring the balance I needed to make it all come together.  She was awesome and again she totally trusted me.   The after speaks for itself .  Welcome to Tasha’s Techniques Kristy, you should of listened to Renee and Ashley along time ago, :)
